Our large client is looking for a qualified actuary to lead their team.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Align appropriate new business and existing business pricing strategies with the business strategy
  • Review pricing levels to ensure it is actuarially sound for administration business, risk business and value-added products
  • Investigate and analyse competitor trends and utilise insights to product development and pricing strategies
  • Design, implement and drive an annual rate review strategy that focuses on process optimization, increased automation and alignment with the new business pricing strategies
  • Contribute and drive new business pricing strategies, marketing and communication processes and client services to improve understanding and acceptance of product and pricing in the market
  • Participate in the research and monitoring of the industry, target market and competitors to identify opportunities and threats as well as areas for improvement in operations
  • Monitor and report on processes to gather organisational feedback regarding the application of existing business pricing practices, processes, documentation and business values
  • Analysing market related research completed in the marketing team to ensure that the team stay up to date with what is happening in the market and to have a competitive advantage
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as other product houses and boards of trustees
  • Develop and maintain a framework for decision making of the quotes areas to optimise the process and promote consistency
  • Review current business practices and procedures to identify and mitigate key risks and alignment to the market
  • Continuously monitor turnaround times and quality standards and resolve issues speedily to enhance client service delivery
  • Ensuring effective product operations and/or maintenance
  • Compliance review and support tools development
  • Provide technical marketing tools and advice to the sales support area to ensure effectiveness and quality service delivery
  • Provide technical support on product related matters to clients
  • Assist in training and upskilling of colleagues
  • Manage budget and implement sound financial controls
