Our client in New Zealand is searching for a qualified actuary to lead and coach their product and pricing team to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership for the management, prioritisation, and delivery of tasks for the product and pricing teams
  • Anticipate new problems and explore new concepts
  • Actively build relationships with key stakeholders and develop good working relationships
  • Prepare executive papers and present to executive and other key stakeholders
  • Lead and manage product and pricing deliveries
  • Collaborate to help design sustainable products that meet customers’ needs
  • Provide financial and risk advice with respect to ongoing product management
  • Discuss and advise on new policy wordings and product literature
  • Provide input into the development and ongoing management of the long-term pricing philosophy and strategy
  • Provide financial and risk advice about short term tactical pricing and commission moves that sit outside the long-term philosophy
  • Determine premium rates on a profitable basis after consideration of shareholder profitability, customer value and market position
  • Monitor the impact of price changes on new and existing business.
  • Provide advice on campaign proposals including analysis of the costs, benefits and associated risks
  • Monitor and measure the success of product launches and campaigns, etc
  • Monitor the competitiveness of products from a pricing, product and remuneration perspective
  • Perform experience investigations for assumptions required for pricing and actuarial teams
  • Review the results of the investigations and recommend actions the business may need to take
  • Monitor and report on experience against industry experience
