Our client is a leading global provider of reinsurance, primary insurance and insurance-related risk solutions. They are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join their Terms of Trade team. 

Candidates who are interested should have at least 2 years’ experience deriving assumptions and/or doing experience studies, as well as experience in the South African life insurance products and market dynamics. You must be able to work with complex data and to work in a team environment. You should have excellent programming skills in actuarial/statistical programming languages such as VBA/SQL and R/Python or any relevant software programme. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Updating and maintaining Terms of Trade. 

• Maintaining the highest standard of technical competence and ensuring that global and local guidelines are followed. 

• Working with the regional office to determine Terms of Trade. 

• Supporting the overall Life Business’ strategy and risk management. 

• Communicating with the Retail and Group Pricing teams as well as the Valuations team on assumption setting. 

• Partnering with business to provide valuable insight to influence strategy and long-term decision making.
