Our client is a leading pan-African financial services organisation. They are looking for a Senior Actuarial Student to join their Life Actuarial Reporting team as an analyst. This role is responsible for performing the life insurance actuarial function for an assigned business in the company’s portfolio.
Candidates who are interested should have at least 3 years’ related experience in Financial Services. Experience in IFRS 17 valuations, EV, VNB and SAM bases will be beneficial. You should have an understanding of life insurance actuarial valuations, solvency and products, and excellent verbal and communication skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high quality, timely and adequate actuarial reporting for management and statutory purposes based on overall company requirements.
- Delivering actuarial valuations, value of new business, embedded value (EV) and the analysis of EV earnings, capital requirements including SAM solvency.
- Reporting on financial soundness, specifically capital requirements and return on capital.
- Ensuring the integrity of actuarial reporting by maintaining a robust control environment.
- Overseeing an effective internal and external audit execution for actuarial.
- Building, developing and maximising effective relationships and manage expectations with all relevant stakeholders including in-country finance and actuarial teams.
- Ensuring that the company operates in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and actuarial and accounting standards applicable to its operations across all its markets and respective shareholder standards.
