Full Description:

Our client is an insurance products services provider. They are looking for an Actuarial Modelling Analyst to join their team. The role will primarily focus on both traditional actuarial modelling, such as pricing and reserving, and newer methods like machine learning techniques. 

Candidates who are interested should be a Senior Student with at least 3 years’ short-term insurance and modelling experience. You should be comfortable with SQL. Phyton, R and Power BI and be proficient working in cloud environments. You should be familiar with machine-learning techniques and knowledge of new developments in the field and have experience with data visualisation to effectively communicate findings through graphs. You should have strong problem-solving skills and have the ability to think critically and creatively, with excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical, to effectively convey findings and insights. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Collecting and cleaning data from various sources, including databases, websites and other relevant sources, using tools such as SQL and Python. 
  • Analysing and interpreting data using statistical and machine-learning techniques, such as generalised linear models (GLMs), decision trees, clustering and neural networks.  
  • Building and maintaining predictive models.  
  • Communicating findings effectively through technical reports and presentations to stakeholders in the business. 
  • Deploying, testing, validating and maintaining machine-learning models in production. 
  • Contributing to the modelling components of traditional actuarial functions such as pricing and reserving.
