
Full Description:
Our client is a financial services group that offers practical financial solutions for people, communities and businesses. They are looking for an Actuarial Reporting Specialist to join their Group Finance team. The purpose of the role is to support the financial reporting and forecasting teams in performing financial impact assessments, analysing financial performance and ensuring clear understandable communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Candidates who are interested should be a Qualified Actuary with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, and at least 3 years’ financial reporting experience (IFRS, EV, SAM) in a life assurance company. You should have experience working in a project-based environment, while experience in dealing with IFRS17-related work is preferrable and experience in audit engagement or consulting assignments highly preferred. You should be an analytical thinker with the ability to critically challenge ideas and explain highly complex concepts. You should have excellent report writing and documentation skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the appropriate adoption of IFRS17 as a reporting but also performance management benchmark.
- Assisting in the forecasting and explanation of expected company performance.
- Providing technical expertise to group stakeholders on IFRS17 and all other actuarial financial reporting and its implications.
- Collaborating with actuarial, Balance Sheet Management (BSM) and IFRS reporting teams to perform assessments as actuarily as possible with minimal disruption to work in progress.
- Driving scenario testing by projecting key metrics resulting from policy choices and post-IFRS17 world.
- Supporting the IFRS17 project audit and review of policy and methodology.
- Collaborating with reporting, planning and investor teams to develop and enhance appropriate measures and appropriate disclosure in a post-IFRS17 environment.
- Providing ad hoc support to the investor relations function when dealing with analyst queries relating to IFRS17 or value measures related queries.
- Analysing competitor disclosures to gain better insight into their strategy and performance and seek to improve our own disclosures.
