Our client is one of the largest global reinsurers that delivers a tailored and diverse range of actuarial, underwriting and reinsurance expertise to their clients. They are looking for a Business Development Actuary to join their Business Development team.
Candidates who are interested should be a Nearly / Newly Qualified Actuary with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a life insurance or reinsurance environment. You should pay attention to detail, assumes ownership and takes initiative in an open and assured manner. You should be a team player with a collaborative working ability and interpersonal communications skills to build and maintain relationships and engage with key internal and external stakeholders. You should also be a problem solver who is deadline driven and customer centric.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing symmetric relationships with existing clients that develops and increases new business opportunities.
- Overseeing and initiating discussions with potential new clients with the aim of adding new clause creating risks and solutions to the portfolio.
- Preparing and conducting presentations, liaising with the Pricing unit and ensuring that all pricing for new business meets internal profitability standards and ensuring that all quotations are produced in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that client accounts are up to date and accurate.
- Liaising with Technical Accounts and ensuring that outstanding accounts and data are followed up on a regular basis.
- Liaising with Corporate Actuarial on the production of Profit Commission calculations, consolidating commentary pertaining the client’s performance for assigned clients to the Head of Business Acquisition and Development on a monthly basis.
- Collating information and providing input and commentary for assigned clients for Exco and quarterly board meetings as required.
