
Full Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior Life Assurance or Short Term Insurance Actuary with considerable Financial Reporting / Reserving experience to join their team in Pretoria as Divisional Head.
Candidates who are interested should be Qualified Actuaries with at least 10 years of experience in the insurance sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management position that includes people management responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Promoting the safety and soundness of businesses under his/her supervision.
- Providing strategic direction in the development, implementation and monitoring of the divisional and departmental strategy.
- Contributing to the development and continuous refinement of the supervisory approach, taking into consideration the current, emerging, systemic and business-specific risks.
- Managing the supervisory oversight of the businesses.
- Managing the operationalisation and implementation of decision-making frameworks, protocols and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring that risks are identified and assessed, and that risk-effective mitigating measures are implemented.
- Managing the performance and development of direct reports.
