Our client is the holding company of some of South Africa’s leading financial service providers with a portfolio of short-term insurers. They are looking for an Executive Assistant to the CEO of their Short Term Insurance division. 

Candidates who are interested should be a Qualified Actuary with at least 5 years’ Commercial Management experience, of which 3 years were in the Short Term Insurance industry. You should be resilient, drive results and be able to manage complexity. You should have a strategic mindset, communicate effectively, have interpersonal savvy and able to builds networks and manage conflict. You should also have the ability to analyse abstract information and to apply this to determine outcomes and patterns. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Developing and proactively managing the governance structure of the Office of the CEO. 
• The operational management, execution and implementation of initiatives and strategies in business on behalf of the Office of the CEO. 
• Support in driving operational execution across the various functions in the company, keeping in mind the evolving insurance industry and macroeconomic nuances. 
• Identifying and interpreting best practice, short- and long-term trends to enable decision-making, proactive monitoring and analysis of all key business. 
• Conceptualising, formulating, tracking, monitoring and prioritising the implementation of all key “top-of-mind” special projects and initiatives. 
• Preparing routine reports and developing recommendations by collating inputs from cross-departmental functions on strategic and operational matters. 
• Identifying and managing stakeholders and building and maintaining solid relationships with them as an extension of the Office of the CEO. 
• Undertaking strategic and tactical financial analysis, modelling and evaluation to support business leaders in their decision-making.
