Our client is a growing, fast-paced and dynamic company. They are looking for a qualified actuary to be the head of their Technical Marketing, Investments and Umbrella Product team. The function of the role is to take ownership of technical marketing across their product suite (group risk, retirement funds, wellness, and any new propositions launched), for maintaining and enhancing the umbrella fund proposition, including the investment proposition, and for ensuring that the umbrella fund product and service is meeting sales and member outcome objectives. 

Candidates who are interested should have at least 10 years’ Senior Management and at least 5 years’ investments experience. You should have knowledge of the employee benefits industry in SA and have excellent verbal and writing as well as presentation skills. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Overseeing the Communications team, responsible for all operational comms and forms, sales support, brochureware, and client communication strategies.  

• Overseeing the Technical Marketing team, who is responsible for the product and sales support of all products.  

• Supporting sales through reusable collateral and bespoke deal support (material and presenting). 

• Building key broker relationships to support sales and market insights. 

• Co-developing marketing strategies together with Marketing. 

• Creating thought leadership content and conceptualising and executing events. 

• Overseeing the Investment team, responsible for investment product development, analytics, technical marketing, and servicing  

• Umbrella fund pricing (basis and bespoke client pricing) 

• Active participation in the Research and Development Steering Committee to influence umbrella product development. 

• Representing the umbrella product in governance committees, executive committees and boards.
