
Full Description:
Our client is a South African-based financial services group providing a diverse range of investment and insurance solutions to individuals and businesses. They are looking for a Senior Student to join their Operations Support team as Manager. The main purpose of the role is to manage a team of 4 analysts, with duties spanning over financial and actuarial analysis work as well as quantitative analytics.
Candidates who are interested should have at least 7 years’ experience. You should have experience in LISP platforms and long-term saving and investment products. You should have programming skills, and experience in VBA, Python and R will be advantageous. You should have and modelling skills, especially financial modelling. Team management experience will also be advantageous. You should be customer oriented with good verbal and written communication skills and pay attention to detail. You must be able to work with people and steer the group to reaching the shared goals of the team, while enjoying working in a challenging and fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the team of fund and quantitative analysts supporting the Fund and Securities business units in the business.
- Providing and overseeing the support provided by the team to Client Services, advisors and IFAs on client queries, new business support (e.g. welcome packs) and operational matters (e.g. performance statements, EAC statements).
- Providing and overseeing calculations performed by the team in respect of policy revision calculations or in support of platform system improvements.
- Sales initiative, control function and business unit metrics pack reporting
- Driving automation of business reporting together with the Corporate Data team.
- Daily uploading of prices on Life-priced funds
- Steering the team to provide support to the Product team in providing technical input and testing on tools and calculators used by the business and its distribution network (advisors).
- Inform business of developing or new risks.
