
Full Description:
Our client is a leading pan-African financial services organisation. They are looking for a Qualified Actuary to join their business as a Reporting Manager. This role provides exposure to a wide range of actuarial disciplines, interaction with diverse stakeholders and cultures across various jurisdictions, businesses and a broad range of products in the Group.
Candidates who are interested should have at least 5 years’ related experience in financial services and risk management, as well as extensive experience in IFRS 9 and 17 valuations, EV, VNB and SAM bases. You should have a proven track record of high performance in managing teams, complex environments and across a portfolio of life assurance companies. You should have excellent verbal and written communication abilities, exhibiting diplomacy, and high personal integrity, while adapting to change, performing well under pressure and taking initiative.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing high-quality, timely and adequate actuarial reporting for management and statutory purposes based on overall Group requirements.
- Specifically, managing the delivery of actuarial valuations, value of new business, embedded value (EV) and the analysis of EV earnings, and capital requirements including SAM solvency.
- Managing the delivery of asset-liability management and the experience analyses.
- Managing the actuarial delivery of the planning and budgeting process in alignment with overall Group requirements.
- Monitoring and managing risk, with an emphasis on financial risks.
- Ensuring the integrity of actuarial reporting by maintaining a robust control environment.
- Overseeing the local actuarial teams and ensuring high performance and compliance with Group standards.
- Ensuring that model governance requirements and standards are met.
- Supporting the local entities through discovering and sharing insights, participating in budgeting processes, analysing key financial and performance results, and providing technical actuarial support.
