Our client is a leading global provider of reinsurance, primary insurance and insurance-related risk solutions. They are looking for a Qualified Actuary to join their Structured Solutions team.

Candidates who are interested should have at least 10 years’ experience in life insurance, reinsurance, actuarial consulting, corporate actuarial, financial reporting or life insurance auditing. Experience in insurance capital management or investment market analysis will be beneficial. You must be technically strong in accounting, reporting and actuarial concepts, and have a sound understanding of the Life and Health insurance and reinsurance markets in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing the financial performance of reinsurance treaties.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to the financial and risk management processes monitoring the in-force reinsurance portfolio, ensuring the infrastructures meet evolving business needs.
• Performing experience and other investigations on the portfolio and making sound risk and profitability management recommendations.
• Coordinating with valuation teams, accounting teams and central units to fulfil the ongoing monitoring and reporting requirements.
• Acting as senior contributor to the development and implementation of strategic goals.
