Our client is a financial services group that offers practical financial solutions for people, communities and businesses. They are looking for a Senior Pricing and Product Specialist to focus on their commercial product offering. The purpose of this role is to assist with pricing and managing the risk in respect of new and existing business to ensure profitability and sustainability.

Candidates who are interested should be a Senior Actuarial Student with at least 3 years’ experience in modelling and pricing in the short-term insurance industry. You should be an accountable problem solver who produces innovative solutions to problems. You should have effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills. You should be proficient in managing priorities and have exceptional analytical and technical skills.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing actuarial services to fulfil business requirements and to solve problems.
• Performing statistical analyses, modelling, monitoring and analysing data and developing models or programs for model building and analyses; interpreting results of models and analyses.
• Compiling and categorising increasingly complex data and documents, and verifying factors and assumptions used in computations.
• Participating in the development of risk-based capital models as well as parameterisation and allocation activities to support actuarial services.
• Participating in the evaluation and review of new proposed processes and systems.
• Demonstrating increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures and applying this knowledge to achieve business objectives.
• Assisting in training less experienced actuarial personnel.
• Demonstrating consistent progress towards local actuarial qualification.
