Actuarial Consultant – SA1484

Our client is a consultancy that delivers long-lasting tailored projects to their clients in the Life Insurance sector. They are looking for an Actuarial Consultant to join their team. The role is to support the delivery of work designed to improve their clients’ actuarial performance through process improvements, system enhancements and the implementation of an adequate control framework. 

Candidates who are interested should have at 2 years’ experience in the financial sector. You should have good knowledge of risk-based regulatory regimes such as Solvency II, IFRS and GAAP as well as insurance products and markets. You should be a problem-solver with analytical and critical skills, paying attention to detail. You should have strong verbal, listening and written communication skills, be flexible and have an aptitude for teamwork, but able to work independently.  

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Actively contributing to a wide range of actuarial projects, including activities such as financial modelling, spreadsheet and other improvements, reporting production and analysis. 
  • Taking on actuarial modelling development tasks.  
  • Developing and/or testing spreadsheet models to deliver to the client’s user acceptance testing. 
  • Managing your deliverables across concurrent projects effectively. 
  • Interacting with clients on your assigned project deliverables. 
  • Creating documentation including process, user and possibly technical guides. 
  • Providing helpdesk and onsite support to clients on processes, models and spreadsheets.  
  • Providing bespoke training to clients. 
  • Developing the company’s profile through client and industry activities.
