General Manager: Actuarial Consulting – SA1426

Our client is a South African Healthcare Consulting firm that has consistently delivered innovative medical aid administration and health risk management solutions for over four decades. They are looking for a General Manager to manage their Actuarial Consulting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging diverse stakeholders, offer strategic consulting and represent the organisation to clients, regulators, lawmakers and medical schemes – leading experienced actuaries and analysts to drive sustained high performance through workforce, talent, succession and performance management.  

Candidates who are interested should be a Qualified Actuary with at least 12 years’ experience in healthcare senior management as well as professional membership with ASSA and/or an International Actuarial Association. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Compliance and risk management: Ensuring legal compliance, risk controls and social responsibility. 
  • Divisional leadership: Driving performance, talent retention and transformation. 
  • Financial management: Overseeing the budget, reports and risk management. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintaining informative relationships and delivering customer expectations. 
  • Strategic implementation: Planning for industry changes, developing and implementing strategic plans.
