Systems and Analytics Actuarial Analyst – SA1492

Our client is a growing, fast-paced and dynamic company that provides innovative risk assurance products to individual clients. They are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join their Systems and Analytics team. This role is responsible for ensuring that products are implemented as designed and that administrative system values are actuarially sound, as well as using analytical skills to enhance retention and distribution strategies. 

Candidates who are interested should be a Senior Student with life assurance industry experience. You should also have previous systems work or software testing / coding experience. You must have industry experience in applying ML / regression models in analytics. You should have database experience (SQL), experience in statistical software (R and/or Python) and programming experience and understanding (e.g. VBA). You should be a self-starter who is analytical, creative and innovative. You should also work well with other people. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Planning for new products, serving as the link between systems and actuarial and ensuring that products are built as required. 
  • Active involvement in testing the implementation of new products or system changes – particularly focusing on the accuracy of calculations and validations. 
  • Analysing servicing scenarios and identifying possible constraints on product design. 
  • Ongoing involvement in addressing individual policy queries and issues. 
  • Assisting with ad hoc investigations and analyses including quantifying the financial impact of possible misalignment of actuarial specification and system implementation. 
  • Enhancing retention and distribution strategies using data analytics skills. 
  • Be involved in developing new innovative product ideas and analysing experience to aid the pricing team. 
  • Building MI data visualisation dashboards to help senior management make decisions affecting retention and distribution strategies.
