Wilhelm qualified as an actuary in 2004 and co-founded SA3 (South African Actuaries Abroad) with his wife Helena in 2005.
He has Life Insurance experience in both the South African and UK markets, gained at some of the major insurers in both countries.
Wilhelm has managed the business (with Helena and later Henda) since inception and the knowledge and contacts he brings to the business are invaluable.
His wife and four children take up most of his spare time, but besides that, he is a keen traveller. His hobbies include any sport that is played with a ball and he makes a mean cappuccino.
Henda (FIA, FASSA) joined the SA3 team in 2009 after working as an actuary in the industry for 13 years.
She qualified in 2001 and worked in life and health insurance at a major South African insurer.
She and her family relocated to Australia for a period where she worked in general insurance at a major Australian insurance company before she joined the SA3 business.
Since joining SA3, she has been helping the Actuarial Society as an examiner for the Modelling Course.
Henda is married and loves spending time outdoors with her husband and children.
Jurie (FASSA, CERA) joined the SA3 team in 2020 after working as an actuary in the industry for 6 years. He qualified in 2017 and worked in life assurance and enterprise risk management at a major South African insurer.
He shares the SA3 team’s passion for serving people and helping others to accomplish their goals.
He and his wife, Annique, enjoy having meaningful conversations with friends over a good cup of coffee and spending time in nature, be it hiking, rock-climbing, surfing, diving or bird watching.
Lidelle joined the SA3 team in July 2013 and has made an immediate impact.
She studied Tourism Management at the Central University of Technology Free State and passed Cum Laude.
With six years’ experience in Hospitality and Sales, the transition into recruitment and the SA3 team went smoothly.
She is dedicated and precise, but enjoys interaction with other people. She has a good listening ear and positive outlook in life.
Lidelle is married to Johan and enjoys MTB cycling, photography and horse riding in her spare time.
Martie has joined our expanding team in July 2013 as Henda’s personal assistant. She completed her Diploma in Executive Assistant (IAC of SA) in 2000.
Martie loves spending time with her family doing outdoor activities such as mountain biking and camping.
After returning from the UK in 2005, Wilhelm recognised the need for a specialised local actuarial recruitment firm right here in South Africa.
“Compared to the UK, there were very few recruiters that really understood the industry – very few people you could trust with the task of securing you a role that ‘ticks your boxes’.”
He started the business with his wife in 2006, not realising how fulfilling this new venture would be.
“We help people. That is ultimately what we do. It is incredibly rewarding to look back on a successful placement when you know you made a difference in someone’s life.”
Since then, they have established themselves as the leading actuarial recruitment firm in South Africa.
Henda joined the team in 2009 and has really made a positive impact on the business from the outset. This brother/sister team shares the same passion for people and delight in seeing others reaching their goals.
Wilhelm and Henda have been supported by Lidelle and Martie since 2013. They are experts when it comes to CV’s, background checks, preferred suppliers’ agreements, corporate gifts and they make a mean flat white.
In 2020 the team expanded further when Jurie joined.
“He is our team’s App and website expert, shares our passion for people and brings to the table his attention to detail.”
Wilhelm, Henda and Jurie are all qualified actuaries who will look after all your recruitment needs. They have in-depth knowledge of the South African actuarial market and have many established contacts throughout the industry. They work with all the major employers in South Africa and the feedback from both employers and candidates are overwhelmingly positive.
“With happy customers for the past 15 years, our business is truly blessed and trusted by managers and candidates alike. We strongly believe that we are blessed to be a blessing and of those who have received abundantly much will be expected. It would be against our convictions to live for ourselves or to accumulate wealth for no purpose.”
“Whether you are looking to fill a strategic position or looking for a new challenge, we would love to help. We trust that you will find our service excellent and the whole process quick, efficient and professional from start to finish. We are looking forward to work with you.”
Wilhelm is a trustee and the chair of the JGE Funding Trust, responsible for building a no-fee technical high school (www.jgt.co.za) for over 1000 children in Bonnievale.
“Over the years, we have invested significant amounts of time, money and expertise in our local communities, where we are witnessing healing and transformation at grassroots level. We are committed to the transformation process in South Africa.”
