Executive: Retail Product, Underwriting & Pricing – SA1447

Our client is a premium African financial services organisation that offers a broad spectrum of financial solutions to retail and corporate customers. They are looking for a Qualified Actuary to become the Executive of their Retail Product, Underwriting & Pricing team.  

Candidates who are interested should have at least 8 years’ experience in a product, underwriting and pricing environment with expertise in overseeing growth and profitability of new and renewal business in an organisation, and at least 5 years’ experience in developing and overseeing strategy implementation, managing major initiatives and leading a team to deliver results. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Developing, implementing and taking full accountability for the strategy and operating model of the Pricing, Product & Underwriting business. 
• Managing and ensuring best practice delivery of pricing and customer experience standards nationally. 
• Continuous improvement to ensure effective service 
• Ensuring that statutory and legislative knowledge is always current in order to resolve complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve the customer experience while complying with governance requirements. 
• Maintaining service, quality and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards. 
• Ensuring cost efficiency by means of financial and corporate governance. 
• Building a culture of high performance.
