Head of Product and Innovation – SA1448

Our client is a premium African financial services organisation that offers a broad spectrum of financial solutions to retail and corporate customers. They are looking for a Qualified Actuary to join their Retail team as Head of Product and Innovation.  

Candidates who are interested should have at least 8 years’ experience in conceptualising, designing and marketing differentiated insurance products that are aligned with the business strategy, and at least 5 years’ experience in leading a product function in the insurance industry. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Accountable for driving sound practices and execution with respect to the design, development, management, launch and decommissioning of products. 
• Strategically implementing existing and new systems and practices to optimise efficiencies through a team of managers. 
• Translating business plans into functional plans, establishing mechanisms to track performance and forecasting medium-term initiatives and results.  
• Driving innovation in the system.  
• Ensuring linkages to other functional activities and priorities to support the flow of work.
