Property and Casualty Senior Actuarial Expert – SA1446

Our client is a financial services group that offers a range of tailored corporate and speciality risk products and services to their clients. They are looking for a Qualified Actuary to join their Corporate Actuarial team as a Senior Actuarial Expert in Germany. This senior role is responsible for managing the quarterly IFRS closings, including the internal preparation and result discussion with senior stakeholders across the organisation, orchestrating the IFRS work for the team and bringing continuous improvements into the daily work in close exchange with the Head of Property and Casualty Reserving and the Chief Actuary. 

Candidates who are interested should have at least 6 years’ experience in Property and Casualty reinsurance reserving or in a similar actuarial role in reinsurance (pricing, risk modelling, etc.) You should have a very good understanding of reserving and reporting processes, especially under IFRS17. You must be able to manage a team and collaborate closely with colleagues across several disciplines. You must be a team player with the ability to work independently, pay attention to detail and apply high-level judgement. You must drive yourself and have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Speaking German will be advantageous. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Managing the quarterly IFRS closing process including result presentation to internal and external stakeholders. 
• Performing Property and Casualty reserving on IFRS 17 bases for a global reinsurance company. 
• Driving the development work pertaining to IFRS 17 calculation and reporting processes. 
• Acting as first contact person for reserving actuaries for technical guidance and advice on IFRS 17 topics. 
• Ensuring completeness and high quality of internal controls and documentation.
