Senior Actuarial Specialist: Income Solutions – SA1443

Our client is a South African based financial services group. They are looking for Senior Actuarial Specialist to join their Investment and Saving Solutions team. The purpose of the role is to perform actuarial product development and management tasks, and in so doing address specific client needs to enhance and support client value proposition across target segments. 

Candidates who are interested should be a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary with at least 4 years’ experience, with product development experience being preferred. Having income solutions experience will be advantageous. You should have the ability to work accurately, paying attention to detail. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills and be a team player. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Performing experience investigations, modelling and data analysis using specialised software, to support the actuarial team to develop new investment and saving solutions and to monitor experience on existing investment and saving solutions.  
• Analysing product-related data from various sources to assess completeness and accuracy, identifying potential errors and irregularities, to ensure the accuracy of client and product insights and analysis.  
• Developing and maintaining pricing models and basis.  
• Preparing product health reports and presenting insights derived from analyses, to support decision-making and informing appropriate actions through various options and scenarios.  
• Sourcing and analysing competitor investment and saving products and pricing models to provide insight into product and pricing models for investment and saving solutions.  
• Providing technical actuarial support to the Investment and Saving Solutions team and claims areas to support various initiatives.
