Senior Product Specialist: Income Solutions – SA1438

Our client is a South African based financial services group. They are looking for Senior Product Specialist to join their Income Solutions Product team. The purpose of the role is to manage the guaranteed annuity and structured product solutions.

Candidates who are interested should be a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary with at least 4 years’ experience in financial services and guaranteed annuity types of products. You should have an understanding of pricing and valuations of life insurance or annuity products, while experience in Risk Agility and Power PI will be advantageous. Paying attention to detail and modelling skills are critical.

Responsibilities will include:

• Understanding and managing the pricing models for guaranteed annuities and structured solutions.
• Collaborating with the valuations teams to understand and unpack the reserves and value of business for these products.
• Collaborating with the asset manager teams to understand the impact of changing circumstances on pricing models.
• Providing deep insight into all assumptions and models affecting the products.
• Monitoring the business mix and actual versus assumed parameters in the pricing models.
• Participating and contributing to a culture that builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and promotes excellence.
• Developing and maintaining productive and collaborative working relationships with peers, clients and stakeholders.
• Positively influencing and participating in change initiatives.
• Continuously developing own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledge.
